The override of love

God's love is amazing but its obvious I have no clue how amazing He really is.

Just thinking about Him for a moment allows me to catch the smallest of thoughts that don't bring Him any pleasure at all and, to be honest, don't add anything to my day either.

I am in the car and my beautiful wife is driving. So I decided, for moment, to kait stare out the window and ponder the extravagance of Christ's love.

Within seconds I was flooded with good thoughts about the most random things. Everything from my wife next to me, strangers in the traffic, even the guy that cut us off, to the people that hurt people and are continually hurt other people.

As I write this on my blackberry, I am even feeling an overwhelming compassion for the child soldiers in Gulu of northern Uganda.

I am confronted with how much of my day is reacting to the issues of those around me without even contemplating their need for some genuine love and affection!

If there is one critical 'must happen' today, it would be to stare at the sky for 90 seconds and contemplate how wide, how deep, how high is the love of Christ.

Your day needs it, and so do the people around you!

The ABC's of Evangelism

Last Sunday night I spoke this message in church and it seemed to have a profound impact!

I could not have made it any simpler. In fact I was concerned that the message was too basic but that is exactly what people said made it so powerful.

It just goes to show their is a partnership between what God wants to do and our cooperation.

Thank God for His amazing grace.

Indescribable

I can't even begin to explain what happened tonight at Hillsong Conference!

Louie Giglio presented his 'indescribable' message with Chris Tomlin, and it was exactly that, indescribable.

He showed us how small our planet is in comparison to the sub division of our solar system, which is within the galaxy of the Universe that God has created.

God, appearing on our planet, in the person of Jesus, to die on the cross, so that we might be able to be reconciled, leaves me feeling quite awkward!

I was sufficiently messed up the majesty of God's greatness.

It was indescribable.

Hillsong Conference opener

Well, here we are again - 12mths later at Hillsong Conference 2007 and the opener we have all been waiting for... with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra!

That sure was a surprise!

Everything about tonight was just amazing. And then Gary Skinner and the Watoto children's chior kicked off the 1st session - very inspiring.

Judging the start of tonight, it looks like this is gonna be the best conference we have ever had.

Tomorrow morning Ps Brian is going to bring a message called 'predictably unpredictable' - don't miss this stream session.

Can't wait for tomorrow.
